Did you hear the news? Hope Pregnancy Ministries is going mobile! We are building a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to bring the work of Clear Choice Clinic to areas of western Montana that are currently unreached. Over the years, we’ve been discouraged by calls from places like Eureka, Libby, and Browning…from people who desperately need help, but are unable to make it to our clinic. About six months ago, God made it very clear that the answer was to build a mobile medical clinic, which would close that gap and bring hope and healing to so many more in need. We’re expanding our reach, and are so excited to see how God uses this tool of His to serve our extended community!
The mobile medical unit will be a “clinic on wheels”, and will allow us to offer all of the services provided at Clear Choice Clinic, in areas that do not have similar services. Our hope is that we can collaborate with existing Pregnancy Resource Centers in those areas, offering much-needed medical services and education to their clients considering abortion. What an incredible opportunity! We will offer free pregnancy testing and limited ultrasound, plus education about pregnancy options, for women experiencing a possible pregnancy. We will also provide free and low-cost STD testing and treatment for men and women; this service allows for sexual lifestyle counseling before an unplanned pregnancy occurs, with the goal of changing the course of a patient’s life before the abortion decision must be considered. Offering STD testing and treatment allows us to be proactive rather than reactive.
For this project, Hope Pregnancy Ministries has joined forces with Life Net of Missoula, a clinic to our south, which offers medical services that mirror ours. HPM and Life Net will share the MMU, and rotate possession on a weekly basis, operating independent medical clinics out of one mobile unit. This allows us to cover much of western Montana, offering life-saving services to more people in need, while sharing the costs of ownership and operation.
We’re projected to be on the road by Spring of 2019, and we continue to raise funds to make this dream a reality!
