Compassion

As I write this letter, I’m overwhelmed by the amount of soul wrenching ministry I’ve experienced in the last month. Due to staffing issues, I’ve spent more time with patients in the last month than I normally would, and I’m overwhelmed by the needs in our community. What a blessing to enter into the lives of those we serve on a level that goes beyond the physical, straight to the heart of the issue. In the last few weeks, I’ve seen heartache, pain, loss, fear and shame. I’ve been humbled and honored to be able to speak into the lives of the patients we serve, to offer hope and healing to the broken. I’ve watched women and men begin to lift their heads and see a brighter future, and establish trust with the staff here who loves them and cares for them so well. We’re offering something that the world doesn’t offer – hope. That’s why we’re here. That’s what you’re supporting. And I thank you for it.
