Hope Pregnancy MinistriesHistory

  • Where We Began

Three Kalispell women and a local pastor were challenged to make an impact for the cause of life by offering an alternative to abortion. Hope Pregnancy Center began at Easthaven Baptist Church where young moms were offered material assistance. In 2000, Central Bible Church offered a residence adjacent their church to house the growing work of Hope. To this date, Hope Family Resource Center operates from this location on 1st Avenue East in Kalispell.

  • Resource Center

July 2001 – Hope Pregnancy Center was converted from a hand out to a hand up ministry with the addition of an Earn While You Learn program. Clients could now receive education related to healthy pregnancy, parenting, lifestyle, relationships, spiritual growth etc. and earn credit to spend in the Baby Boutique by completing lessons, attending classes, and utilizing community services. HFRC continues to support clients from the beginning of pregnancy until their child is two years old. Spring 2015 – The number of fathers enrolled in parenting classes at the resource center had grown to such a level that the name was changed from Hope Pregnancy Resource Center to Hope Family Resource Center, to represent the vision and work of this branch of HPM more accurately.

  • A New Name

September 2003 – HPC left the umbrella of Easthaven Baptist Church and achieved independent nonprofit status. By September 2006, the corporate name of the ministry was changed to Hope Pregnancy Ministries.

  • Medical and Beyond

February 2006 – The Board approved opening a medical clinic in an effort to reach more women at risk for abortion. On December 17, 2007, after almost two years of planning, training and preparation, Clear Choice Clinic opened, offering pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasound, and options education. Within five years, CCC began offering STD testing and treatment with the aim of reaching women and men living a lifestyle of sexual risk, before they experience an unplanned pregnancy. In February 2015, we began training other pregnancy medical clinics from across the nation to implement these services as well. In May 2019 a Mobile Medical Unit was added to the services of Clear Choice Clinic, to visit underserved areas of northwest Montana. In 2019, professional counseling was added to the services offered at Clear Choice Clinic, and in 2023 the scope of practice was expanded to include Well Woman Care.

  • Striving for Excellence

Fall 2014 – Clear Choice Clinic achieved AAAHC accreditation through a rigorous process that signifies us as a top-notch medical clinic, following nationally recognized standards of best practice. Accreditation status has remained active ever since.

  • Space to Grow

July 2007 – As Clear Choice Clinic was being founded, HPM purchased a building in the heart of the medical community. In September 2012, through overwhelming donor support, the $450,000 mortgage on the building was paid in full! In Fall 2016, a major expansion and renovation was achieved with the construction loan paid in full within months of completion.

  • Recognition

December 2015 – HFRC was invited by Kalispell Regional Healthcare to lead parents of NICU patients through Earn While You Learn lessons. Through this relationship, many patients have enrolled as ongoing clients at Hope Family Resource Center! This story was featured by the Daily Interlake in a November 2017 publication. In September of 2016 – Clear Choice Clinic became a clinical site for Montana State University nursing students. July 2017 – Hope Pregnancy Ministries was honored to be named the Northwest winner for the WORLD magazine Hope Awards for Effective Compassion!
