Biographies


Michelle Reimer
Executive Director

Michelle has been with Hope Pregnancy Ministries since the inception of Clear Choice Clinic in 2007 and holds a degree in nursing from Montana State University. She has been an active leader in cause of life, and her medical background and passion for life make her the strong Executive Director of Hope Pregnancy Ministries. Michelle is a gifted educator and strong communicator. She can often be found in local schools, teaching about sexuality, integrity, and lifestyle choices; hosting groups in Hope’s medical clinic; and instructing young people on the topic of abortion and sexuality as it relates to faith. Michelle grew up in Whitefish, Montana, where she still resides with her husband, Kent. They are blessed with five children and fifteen amazing grandchildren, and worship at The Naz in Whitefish.


Alicia Scofield
Executive Assistant

Alicia joined the HPM team in 2023 as the Executive Assistant. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Montana, and is currently earning her Masters of Religious Education from Liberty University. Alicia has a passion for showing the love of Jesus to everyone around her. Her experience in ministry and administrative roles will add to the valuable work of Hope. She grew up in Libby and married her high school sweetheart, Aaron. They have two growing boys who keep them busy all the time and worship at Easthaven Baptist Church.

LAURA SIMPSON, RN
Nurse Manager & Community Liaison

Laura joined the team in August of 2021 as a Registered Nurse and Community Liaison. This fulfilled a lifelong dream of serving her community through meeting physical needs, while loving people as Jesus does within a pregnancy care center. Laura earned her Bachelors of Science and Nursing with a minor in Spanish from Wright State University, and a Masters of Biblical and Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. God’s grace and her position in pediatric emergency nursing has allowed her to be present in some of the most critical moments with her patients. Laura published her first Bible Study, “Why the Wait, Lord?” in 2021. She lives in Kalispell and serves at Fresh Life Church on the worship team.

Stefanie schelling, NP
Nurse Practitioner

Stefanie began at Clear Choice Clinic in April of 2019 and then came on staff as a Nurse Practitioner after receiving a Master of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University in 2022. A native of the Flathead Valley, Stefanie was a photographer for 10 years before pursuing a nursing career. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing through Montana State University at the Kalispell campus.  Her first nursing position was at the Flathead City-County Health Department working with pregnant and parenting teens, amongst other roles.  Stefanie and her husband have 3 children, one of whom is in heaven. Stefanie and her family attend Canvas Church and her hobbies include boating, golfing and traveling.

kayla anderson, RN
Staff Nurse

Kayla joined the clinic in April of 2019. Kayla graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Kayla has always had a heart for maternal health and underserved populations, which lead her to YWAM and eventually serving in a birth center in the Philippines. As a Flathead Valley native, Kayla returned in 2008 and married her best friend Clay. Together they enjoy spending time outdoors, fishing, and traveling to new places. Clay and Kayla have two beautiful boys and they attend Hope Church.

Abigail Hayward, RN
Staff Nurse

Abigail joined the team in 2022 as a Registered Nurse. After walking through an unexpected pregnancy with the support of Hope Pregnancy Ministries, it became Abigail’s dream to serve the young women of the Flathead Valley as a nurse at Clear Choice Clinic. Given her life experiences, she feels especially equipped to provide hope to young couples who may find themselves in similar circumstances. Abigail earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana State University at the Kalispell campus in 2021. She lives in Bigfork with her husband and two boys and she and her family attend Canvas Church. 

Jennifer SYckes
Clinic Assistant

Jennifer came to Clear Choice Clinic in October 2020, and serves as a clinic assistant. A graduate of Trinity Biblical University, Jennifer spent the last 5 years on staff at Fresh Life Church in Kalispell, working in various roles. Jennifer states, “Having long admired the pro-compassion vision of Hope, I am excited about the proactive and empowering approach by the ministry to change lives in our community, including education for young people, like my daughters.” Her love for service and people will make her a valuable part of the Clear Choice Clinic team. Jennifer grew up in Bigfork, and has three amazing daughters. They love spending time at the lake, being outside and traveling. They worship at Canvas Church.

Stephanie fetveit
Clinic Assistant

Stephanie joined Clear Choice Clinic in December 2022 as a Clinic Assistant. She has a long history of working with youth as a substitute teacher, foster parent, and in youth group. Stephanie has a passion for helping people in their relationships and those struggling through hard times. Her heart to serve and help others makes her a great fit at the clinic. She loves dogs and has 3 golden doodles, and in her spare time enjoys thrifting, vintage shopping, refinishing furniture and doing embroidery. Stephanie and her husband have five children and reside in Bigfork.

cONNIE vARGAS
Bookkeeper

Connie joined the ministry in September 2020, serving as the bookkeeper for Hope Pregnancy Ministries.  A graduate from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Connie has been a bookkeeper for 25 years. Connie and her husband Frank have been in ministry for over 30 years. They began as youth leaders, and now serve together pastoring Active Word Ministries in Columbia Falls. Connie has two adult children and five grandchildren. She enjoys reading and spending time with family.

COLLEEN WARRICKS
Patient Coordinator

Colleen was welcomed to the team in August of 2022 and serves as a Patient Coordinator at Clear Choice Clinic. Married with five adult children and three grandchildren, she is recently an empty nester!  Colleen enjoys spending time with her family and friends and feels blessed to live in Montana where she enjoys many outdoor activities, especially picking huckleberries. She enjoys serving people and helping them along their life journey, and worships at Canvas Church in Kalispell.

Venus LeRoy
HFRC Volunteer Coordinator

Venus came to Hope Pregnancy Ministries in 2015 after hearing a radio highlight about the ministry on Moody Radio. She began as an administrative volunteer and became indispensable in her role at Hope Family Resource Center; when a staff position became available, she was the obvious choice. Venus lived most of her life in Washington state, where she worked for 19 years in the dental field before making a career change and earning an associate’s degree in Medical Business Information Management. Her time away from HFRC is spent on sewing, knitting, outdoor activities and preparations for yearly, short-term mission trips to the Czech Republic.

Kristin Taylor
HFRC Program Assistant

Kristin joined us in 2024. When a friend mentioned volunteering as a mentor at Hope Family Resource Center, she was immediately eager to be involved. Kristin married her high school sweetheart and they moved numerous times all over the country as he trained for his career. Raising three children far from their home in Montana gave her a deep appreciation for the support, guidance, and encouragement offered to the clients at Hope. She loves paddle boarding, bodies of water , hiking, eating out, and most recently training for powerlifting competitions! You'll find her worshipping at Fresh Life on Sunday mornings with her hands in the air and tears streaming down her cheeks.

KEN gRAHAM, MD
Co-Medical Director

Ken Graham, MD, is a pediatrician with Sunny View Pediatrics in Kalispell. He received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from Montana State University and completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of New Mexico. He practiced at Rocky Mountain Children’s Clinic in Butte, where he served seven years as Chief of Pediatrics. He also served as Chief of Medical Staff for St. James Healthcare. With a passion for teaching, Dr. Graham served as director of the hospital’s pediatric education program at St. James and was the lead instructor for pediatric advanced life support and the neonatal resuscitation program. He and his wife, Susan have moved back to the Flathead, and enjoy skiing, backpacking, boating, fly fishing, tennis, and exploring Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley with their four daughters and grandchildren.

PETER NIELSEN, MD
Co-Medical Director

Dr. Nielsen received his B.S. in Biochemistry at Texas A&M University, and obtained his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Following his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, Dr. Nielsen completed his Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) since 1994 and a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations since 1984. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Dr. Nielsen currently serves part-time as Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and Maternal-Fetal Medicine staff at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana. He retired as a colonel from the U.S. Army in 2016, after 29 years of service, including two combat tours as deputy commander of a deployed combat support hospital in Baghdad, twelve years of service as gynecologic surgery and obstetrics consultant to the U.S. Army Surgeon General and hospital commander. His military awards include the Mologne Award for military academic excellence, the Bronze Star Medal and the Distinguished Service Medal. In 2015 he was recipient of the Missouri Hospital Association Visionary Leadership Award for his statewide leadership supporting the Ebola crisis while serving as hospital commander (CEO) of the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He also received a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies (MSS) at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
